🛠 The tools and parts that you will need for this repair:

  1. New Ear Pads (We also have Leather Ear Pads if that's more your style)

    1. Remove the Old Ear Pads

The ear pads are held in place by magnets, no glue or locking clips so they will come off quite easily if you pull them away from the headphones.

Removing the Right AirPods Max ear pad

Removing the Left AirPods Max ear pad

    2. Install the New Ear Pads

When installing the new ear pads, you can make sure that each ear pad ends up on the right side by referencing the small "R" and "L" inside of the headphones as well as the "R" and "L" inside of the ear pad.

Reference the "L" and "R" inside of the AirPods Max ear pads

Reference the "L" and "R" inside of the AirPods Max headphones

Lay each ear pad down onto its respective side with the "R" and "L" facing right side up to ensure that the head detection sensors are lined up with their window in each ear pad. The magnets in the ear pads will automatically line up with the headphones and pull the ear pad into its place.

Lay each ear pad onto the AirPods Max and let the magnets lock it into place

    3. Get back to enjoying your headphones 🤓
