Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing the Left and Right Speaker Drivers on the Beats Solo 4 Wireless Headphones

In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the blown speaker driver on the Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.

Step 1: Remove the Earpad Cushion

Insert a sturdy metal pry tool into the seam between the earpad cushion and the earcup. Gently work the tool up and down to separate the cushion from the earcup without damaging the retaining clips.

Step 2: Separate the Speaker Housing from the Earcup

Unfasten the 3 screws holding the speaker housing to the earcup with a 2.0mm Phillips screwdriver.

Step 3: Extract the Old Speaker Driver from the Housing

3.1. Flip the speaker housing, then apply heat to soften the old adhesive over the speaker connector and remove it with a strong metal pry tool.

3.2. Desolder the speaker wires with a soldering iron. Click a photograph of the wires to use as a reference while soldering them back onto the new speaker driver.

3.3. Remove the old adhesive from the side of the speaker driver with a strong metal pry tool till it comes out.

Step 4: Install a New Speaker Driver

4.1. Solder the wires onto the new speaker driver.

4.2. Apply 8 drops of tacky glue along the perimeter of the new speaker driver to secure it in place.

Step 5: Reassemble the Beats Solo 4 Wireless Headphones

5.1. Tuck all the internal wires under the AUX port so that they don’t get in the way when you fasten the screws on the speaker housing.

5.2.  Flip the speaker housing over the earcup and fasten the 3 screws with a 2.0mm screwdriver.
