Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing the Speaker Driver on the Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones
In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the blown speaker driver on the Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.
Step 1: Remove the Earpad Cushion
Insert the strong metal pry tool under the earpad cushion and pry it out from the earcup.

Step 2: Extract the Speaker Housing
2.1. Unfasten the 2 silver screws securing the AUX port and the 5 black screws holding the speaker housing using a 2.0mm Philips screwdriver.

2.2. Apply moderate heat using a heat gun (~90°C) uniformly on the MS port to soften the adhesive before gently pulling the cable out using your fingers. Using too much heat can damage the port and the circuit board.

2.3. Unsolder the speaker wires.

Step 3: Install New Speaker Housing
3.1. Connect the 2 wires to the new speaker and solder them securely in place.

3.2. Remove the old adhesive using a flathead screwdriver.

3.3. Attach the MS port and tuck the wires in the designated groove on the new speaker housing.

3.4. Fasten all 7 screws in the correct orientation. Make sure to move the internal wires out of the screw holes to avoid damaging them.

Step 4: Attach the Earpad Cushion
4.1. Peel off the old adhesive tape.

4.2. Install new adhesive tape. Make sure the screw holes on the tape align with those on the earcup.

4.3. Remove the protective film from the adhesive tape.

4.4. Align the earpad cushion with the earcup and press it until you hear the clips click into place.
