Sony WH-1000XM6 XM6 Cracked Left Headband Ring & Slider Repair
Is the plastic ring at the end of your Sony WH-1000XM6 headband cracked, or has the left slider come apart so the ear cup won't stay in place? This is the most common way the XM6 is breaking in 2026, and it's often mistaken for a broken hinge.
Sony reinforced the XM6 hinge, but the plastic headband ring and the slider that adjusts the fit sit right next to it. When the ring cracks, the slider can separate from the headband and the headphones can't be worn. We replace the cracked ring and slider on the left side, then test the fit, folding, and sound before we send your headphones back.
Signs you need this repair:
- Crack in the plastic ring at the end of the headband, above the left hinge
- Left slider separated or pulled out of the headband
- Left ear cup won't stay at the height you set, or slides down
- Headband feels loose or uneven on the left side when you put it on
Not cracked, just loose? If the ear cup wobbles or the hinge swivels too freely but nothing is cracked, choose our Loose Hinge Swivel Repair instead. Both sides cracked? Our Headband Assembly Repair covers both sides for $240. Not sure which one you have? Pick the closest match. We confirm when we inspect your headphones and always charge the cheaper repair if that's all it needs.
