Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing the Back Cover on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 at Home
In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the worn-out back cover on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 yourself. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.
Step 1: Remove the Worn-out Back Cover
1.1. Extract the 4 screws using a Pentalobe (P5) 1.5mm screwdriver and store them safely in the slot provided on the work mat.

1.2. Apply heat uniformly around the seam of the back cover using a heat gun. We set the temperature to 200°C (392°F) with an airflow of 50 for 90 seconds.

1.3. Insert a strong metal pry tool in the seam between the device and the back cover and gently pry away to separate the two halves. Dip the pry tool in isopropyl alcohol frequently to dissolve the adhesive and prevent contamination.

1.4 Disconnect the main ribbon cable.

Step 2: Install New Back Cover
2.1. Wipe the old adhesion surface using isopropyl alcohol before installing a new back cover. Store the small metal brackets safely for reinstallation.

2.2. If the old adhesive is worn out, apply fresh adhesive along the seam.

2.3. Install the small metal brackets on the new back cover.

2.4. Connect the ribbon cable and the second connector with the new back cover.

2.5. Fasten the 4 small screws.
