Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing the Battery on the Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones at Home

In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the battery on the Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones at home. Follow the instructions and refer to the corresponding images to restore your device’s battery life.

Step 1: Pry Out the Outer Ring on the Right Earcup

The battery is located in the right earcup. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the indent on the plastic outer ring and pry it out. Apply gentle pressure as the ring is glued onto the earcup.

Step 2: Remove the Back Panel

2.1. Extract the 4 screws using the Philips 2.0mm screwdriver.

2.2. Remove the plastic tab by inserting the flathead screwdriver into the edge and prying upward.

2.3. Insert the strong metal pry tool in the gap between the earcup and the outer plastic cover and pry swiftly while pushing inward in one single motion. Always move quickly to avoid damaging the clips on the outer panel.

Step 3: Extract the Worn-out Battery

3.1. Insert the strong metal pry tool under the battery and pry up to extract it from the earcup.

3.2. Disconnect the wires from the 2 connection points using a heat source to soften the adhesive. We used a soldering iron. You can also use a heat gun or hairdryer. Apply moderate heat uniformly to soften the glue without damaging the circuit board or the connector ports.

3.3. Extract the power board from the earcup by inserting the flathead screwdriver under the power board and gently prying upward.

3.4. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop out the battery wire from under the power board, extract the worn-out battery, and discard it.

Step 4: Install New OEM Battery

4.1. Connect the battery wire to the power board.

4.2. Press the power board back onto the earcup till you hear the clips click into place. Make sure no cables get pinched between the board and the plastic housing.

4.3. Peel off the sticker at the back of the new battery to reveal the adhesive.

4.4. Press the battery into place for the adhesive to work.

Step 5: Assemble the Beats Studio 3 Wireless Headphones

5.1. Adjust the clip on the slider mechanism to ensure the earcups hold their position when you adjust the headband to your convenience.

5.3. Align the slider hinge with the plastic panel. Make sure the slider is at the topmost point.

5.4. Align the grooves on the earcup with the points on the plastic panel and press both sides together. Test the slider mechanism and make sure no wires are in the way of the screw holes.
