In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace a loose or wobbly charging port on your Bose QC 45 headphones yourself. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.

Step 1: Remove the Right Earpad Cushion

The charging port on the Bose QuietComfort (QC) 45 is on the right side. We will only work on the right earcup for this repair.

1.1. Grab the earpad cushion with your fingers, then pull it off the retaining clips.

1.2. Carefully remove the mesh from the earcup and set it aside. It is secured with double-sided tape, so peel it away gently to preserve the adhesive for reinstallation.

Step 2: Extract the Outer Earcup Housing

2.1. Unfasten the three 2.0mm screws holding the outer earcup housing.

2.2. Flip the earcup and shake it gently until the outer housing falls out.

2.3. Disconnect the ribbon cable connecting the earcup housing to the main board. You may have to peel off the tape covering the connector in your headphones.
