In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the damaged earpad cushion on the Bose QuietComfort (QC) 15, 25, 45 (I and II), and 45 headphones at home. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.
Step 1: Extract the Peeling, Cracked, or Torn Earpad Cushion Muffs
1.1. Insert one finger behind the old earpad cushion until you feel the retaining ring at its base.
1.2. Grip the ring with your fingers, then pull it upward and toward the center of the earcup to release the retaining clips and remove the cushion.
Step 2: Install New Inner Protectors (Optional)
2.1. The inner protectors are held on by double-sided tape on both sides.
2.2. Peel off the old inner protectors and toss them out. Install the new inner protectors.
Step 3: Install New Earpad Cushion Muffs
