Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing Faulty Left and Right Speaker Housings on the Bose QuietComfort (QC) Ultra Headphones at Home
In this detailed DIY repair guide, we show you how to replace the left and right speaker housings on the Bose QC Ultra headphones yourself. Follow each step carefully and use the accompanying images as a visual guide to complete the repair with confidence.

Step 1: Extract the Earpad Cushion
1.1. Insert a strong metal pry tool into the seam between the earpad cushion and the earcup, and gently pry it off.
1.2. Extract the foam mesh with the pry tool and set it aside.
Step 2: Extract the Faulty Speaker Housing
2.1. Unfasten 4 screws on the right side (or 3 on the left side) securing the speaker housing with the earcup and store them in one of the slots on the rubber work mat.
2.2. Gently flip the speaker housing from the bottom to reveal the speaker cable. Use precision tweezers to flip the lock and unplug the ribbon cable, then discard the speaker housing.
Step 3: Install New Speaker Housings
3.1. Grab a new speaker housing, then reconnect the ribbon cable from the speaker housing to the main board.
3.2. 5Flip the speaker housing over the earcup, then secure the assembly by fastening four 2.0 mm Phillips screws on the right (or 3 screws on the left side).
Step 4: Reinstall the Earpad Cushion
4.1. Insert the foam mesh in the earcup.
4.2. Align the grooves on the earpad cushion with those on the earcup and push them into place.
