Step-by-Step DIY Guide to Replacing the Battery on the Sony ULT WEAR (WH-ULT900N) Wireless Bluetooth Headphones at Home
In this detailed repair guide, we show you how to replace the worn-out or dead battery on the Sony WH-ULT900N wireless Bluetooth headphones at home. Follow the instructions and refer to the corresponding images to restore your device’s battery life.
Step 1: Separate the Right Earpad Cushion
1.1. Insert a strong metal pry tool in the seam between the earpad cushion and the earcup and gently pry the earpad off.

1.2. Remove the foam cushion.

Step 2: Separate the Rear Touch Panel
2.1. Unfasten the 4 small screws using a 1.5mm Phillips screwdriver. You may need to use precision tweezers to extract them.

2.2. Insert a flathead screwdriver in the edge between the touch panel and the earcup and gently press outward to push it off.

Step 3: Disconnect the Battery
3.1. Flip the touch panel over to reveal the battery. Disconnect the ribbon cable using a flathead screwdriver.

3.2. Insert the pry tool under the battery and apply an up-and-down motion to peel the battery from the earcup.

Step 4: Install a New Battery
4.1. Take a new OEM replacement battery and place it on the adhesive patch on the earcup for a secure fit. If the old adhesive is worn out, apply a fresh layer of Joe’s cold-press adhesive.

4.2. Connect the battery wire to the main circuit board.

Step 5: Reassemble the Sony WH-ULT900N
5.1. Place the rear touch panel back over the earcup.

5.2. Flip the earcup over and fasten the 4 screws.

5.3. Put the foam cushion back into place.

5.4. Align the hump on the earpad cushion with the notch in the earcup and press the two sides together.
